Welcome to Robin's View

What does it mean is your glass half full or half empty?  Some people look at life positive and some look at life negative.  Where does negative and positive come from?  Our thoughts.  I heard of a study some did about a year ago on how people looked at a situation if it was a blessing or bad luck.

For example a guy went skiing and broke his leg and they told him that was really bad luck.  He said no it was a blessing I could have broke both legs or been killed.  They traveled America doing this study and wrote a book on how people thought about situations if it was good of bad.  A lot of people would say whoa is me I broke my leg instead this guy was thankful that more didn't happen.  Its all how we think!  Are you positive or negative? It is so important what we think that it determines our life, church, spirit life, family, friends and etc.

James 4:1-8

From whence come wars and fighting’s among you? Come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?

Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot: ye fight and war; yet ye have not, because ye ask not.

(4:1-3 James emphasizes the strife so common among his readers, stemming from their unsatisfied, selfish desires. Instead of wrestling with God in prayer, these believers are striving with one another." And where does a lot of this warring start?

In our minds.")

Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

Ye adulterers and adulteresses know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, the spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?

But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resesteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the Humble.(" I heard someone on the radio today say humbleness and meekness was not a weakness." It is a strength because you have to be close to God and you have to choose to be humble and meek and fight against the flesh.  Being humble and meek is not being a push over, it is knowing when to hold your tongue, and how to act Christ like. We just said you had to choose to be humble and meek, how do you choose? With your mind.)

Submit yourselves therefore to God.  Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

(How do you draw nigh to God? PRAYER, THE WORD, STUDING, FASTING. To purifying your hearts you first have to start with the mind. REMEMBER THE HEART, MIND, EARS, AND TONGUE ALL GO TOGETHER. One corrupts the other or one will cleanse the others. You can't have a clean heart with a dirty mind or vice versa. One will corrupt the other. And that is where double minded comes into. You can't be positive and negative.  You will be one or the other.)

In my study Bible it says 4:7-10 RESIST THE DEVIL: Do not submit to, fear, or flee from Satan, but stand against him (1 Pet.5:8-10). Satan cannot lead into sin against one's will. DRAW NIGH:  God will not be unmoved; His welcoming response is always near (Deut. 4:7, Lam.3: 57;Luke 15:20). HANDS and HEARTS: The cleansing of one's life must involve both outward deeds and inner thoughts.

Psalms 24:3-4

Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord?  Or who shall stand in his holy place?

He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath no lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.

Psalms 15

Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? Who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the TRUTH IN HIS HEART.

He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbor, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbor.

In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoreth them that fear the Lord. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.

He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent.  He that doeth these things shall never be moved.

Zech. 8:16,17

These are the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbor; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates;

And let none of you imagine (think) evil in your hearts against his neighbor; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the Lord.

Our thoughts determine our walk with the Lord, how we worship, and how our church service will be. Do we come to Church with a negative mind or a positive mind?  God can't move with a negative mind.

Acts 2:1

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord (mind) in one place.

Tonight are we all one mind or are we double minded.

James 1:8 a double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
